Localization of pre-mRNA Splicing Factors During Mitosis
One of the earliest events in establishing daughter nuclei after mitosis is deposition of the nuclear envelope/lamina (green) around segregated chromosomes. During anaphase and much of telophase pre-mRNA splicing factors are localized in the cytoplasm in mitotic interchromatin granule clusters (MIGs) (red). In late telophase splicing factors are released from MIGs and enter daughter nuclei. Photo provided by Paula Sacco-Bubulya.
